As I travel around the globe the mannequin world tries to please. Sometimes it is quirky looks or just a splash of colour to brighten up the look - This a Turquoise and Red splash.

Harrods Terminal 5 Heathrow

Extreme Sartorial Elegance at Heathrow's Terminal 5. These are the latest Mannequins that Harrods is offering up for our delectation. Whilst lithe, elegant and wonderfully crafted they are sadly pale and very, very melancholic.
The beautifully sculpted mannequins are used to display the beautiful clothes that designers wish us to buy. I observed that very few people in the shop had time to look at how they were displayed - They really go unnoticed most of the time. I imagine an airport is not a place where designer clothes are purchased en masse. |

Ouch! The Battered Mannequin...

As they step out from behind the glass the Mannequins start to take on a sorry state. This is often due to the fact that these are dropped, thrown and dragged into the back of white-vans as they make their weekly pilgrimage to the local markets.

There is something slightly disconcerting about a mannequin that has been given a fixed almost maniacal smile - It rather detracts from the purpose which is as a seller of clothes.
